Oct. 16 to 18 - The Public Forest Council will host a Non-Timber Forest Products Forum at Rodd’s Mill River Resort. The forum will feature Dr. Marla Emery, an international expert on non-timber products with the USDA Forest Service. Feature topics will include Christmas wreath making, forest mushrooms, bird tourism, and much more. Oct. 22 - The Island Nature Trust will sponsor a presentation on the Winter Feeding of Wild Birds at the Charlottetown Farm Centre with Ben Hoteling starting at 7:30 pm.

' Oct. 23 - The Island Nature Trust will sponsor a presentation on the Winter Feeding of Wild Birds at the Eptek Art and Cultural Centre in Summerside with Jackie Waddell starting at 7:30 pm.

Nov. 1 - Island Nature Trust’s Annual Seeds of Conservation Sale at the Farmer’s Market in Charlottetown from 9 am to 2 pm.

Nov. 4 — The Natural History Society’s regular meeting will start at 7:30 PM at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown. The topic will be released soon.

Nov. 7 to 8 - The Provincial Forest Envirothon will host teams of senior high school students in a competition on field sciences and a presentation. The overall winning team will send to participate in the National competition in the United States. Contact Ken Mayhew for more information.

Dec. 2 - The Natural History Society’s regular meeting will feature the second part of the bird identification course. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown. YN

Dec. 14 to Jan. - The Audubon Christmas Bird Count period with counts to be held at P.E.I. National Park, Hillsborough, East Point, and Montague. Some will have associated pot-lucks. For registered counts, field counters must pay a $5 registration fee while feeder watchers within the count area can participate free of charge.
