CONTEST SCHEDULED - Tomorrow night the people of Montague will once more have the opportunity of at- tending an amateur contest spons- ored by the Canadian Legion which will be held in Yeo's Theatre. At the former contest on June 6th the theatre was filled to capacity and numerous contestants from various parts of the Province participated. It is understood that a. large num- ber oi entries have been received in the different classes and that several intermission features have been booked for presentation.

Three truck drivers charged under section 36 (2A) of the Highway Traffic Act, with operating a vehicle weighing over 5.000 lbs. at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour on the highway. were each fined 320.00 and costs. A resident of Cardigan. charged with psault. under section 291 of the Criminal Code of Canada. had sentence suspended for 2 years. A resident of Point Pleasant and one of Souris. both charged un- der section 29 (2) of the Temper- ance Act. had their cases adjourn- ed for one week. A Murray Harbour resident, charged with operating a motor vehicle. with- out a license. under section 3 (l) of the Highway Traffic Act. was fined 9.00 and costs. Two part- ies charged under section 20 (1) of the Temperance Act. of having liquor in their possession in a place other than their residence. were each fined 320.00 and costs. Green draperies and baskets of natural flowers made an appropriate stage setting. for the long white gowns oi sev-ll enteen young lady graduates wear- ing pink carnation corsages, and the grey flannels, dark coats and white carnation boutonniere of six young men of the class.

Right Reverend J. A. Murphy. Pastor of St. Mary's Church. Sourls. acting as chairman. pre- sented the diplomas and premiums and voiced the appreciation of the Reverend Fathers. Reverend Sis- ters and the numerous audience for the timely. inspiring and practical address delivered to the graduates by Mr. Melvin J. Mc- Quaid. B.A., LL.B., School Trustees. His Worship. Mayor Lavie and Mr. J. J. MacDonald of the Board of School Trustees expressed the appreciation of the citizens for the excellent work accomplished, by the school. The chairman of the evening voiced the thanks of both the faculty and the student body for the many generous donations to the Prize List. The following program was most commendably presented:
