Edgar M. Pools of Souris died in the Prince Edward island Hos-

pital on Friday. February 24. 1950, following an extended illness. Barn in P“ ‘. Newfoundland.

Mr. Poo-is moot most of his fifty- four years in souris. where as e fisherman he was well-known and well-‘lked by all with vuhovzn he worked and associated. A quiet. reserved man. without an enemy, he had a friendly manner and a oo-opera/Live spirit which will be greatly missed along iihe water- mm

A veteran of two world wars. Mr. Poole had the azffeotion and respett of his cxmrades who knew him for a. good soldier and a true friend. liuentiaily e. home-«loving man Mr. Poole was devoted to his wife and family. Though the renovations on the building housing the Provincial Headquarters of the Canadian Red Cross society are not quite com- plete, the staif have now returned to their offices after having car- ried on under difficulties from their own homes during the past two months.

At the regular monthly meeting of the Provincial Executive, pre- sided over by Mr. R. H. Rozerl. reports read by the Chairmen of the different Standing Committees revealed that the work of ell-dr partmenta has been actively carried on in spite of the difficulties en-

countered.

Mr. Edwin C. Johnstone, Provin- cial Chairman of the“ Campaign Committ stated that the 1950 Red Cross campaign had been de- layed in this Province until the last two weeks in March so as not to conflict with the Y. M. C. A. and the Boy Scouts Campaign. Plans are now underway to have the rural areas begin canvassing just as soon as possible and to have the campaign in Charlotte- town and Sumrnerside during the week of March 27th, '

In reporting for the Blood Don- or Committee, Lt.-Col, Len F. Mac- donuld announced that the lood Donor Clinics will be held d ring the week of April 10th. at the R. C. A. F. Station, Summerside, in Summerside itself and Charlotte- town when 900 donors will be needed. This is a very large allott- ment and will require a great deal of the kind of co-operative effort for which Prince Edward Island- ers are famous.
