Mr. Lloyd. This concert will embrace the leading musical in the City, both local and instrumental, and will be a new and attractive feature of the Exhibition. ibits can also be taken from the cars to the Industrial Building, and with ordinary care will not be liable to any injury. The Water works are being conveyed to the horse and cattle stables where suitable puncheons and troughs for the use of 4aimals will be placed.

| L'Evenement says: ‘Last evening his Eminence, Cardinal Tachereau has con- sidered it his duty to decline the invitation to the Governor General's State dinner at the Citadel. The refusal, it is explained, was dictated by the fact that there was an unwillingness to take into account at this official dinner the order of precedence ac- cepted and followed in England, by which Cardinals, as princes of the Church, rank immediately after princes of blood royal, and before all ministers and members of the House of Lords.”

Gunpowder Horror.

SroKANE Fats, Wash,, Sept. 7.j } Time heightens the horrors wrought by the premature explosion of 200 pounds of gunpowder in a blast in the Northern Pa- cific freight yards here, last night. Up to Il p. m. eighteen bodies had been taken from among the rocks. Of these, sixteen were identified. Twenty-five men are yet unaccounted for, and in all probability are buried between a mighty mass of rock. The accident was caused by some one’s careless- ness.
