CORNER BROOK, Nfld. (CP) Three men were killed © and seven injured Tuesday night’

when two CNR freight trains; collided on the Cliffside tracks of the Crow Gulch yard.

All were crew members of the two trains.

Three men riding in the en- gine of a switching train were killed when an empty boxcar immediately behind the engine slammed into the locomotive and shared off the cab.

Five of the injured ‘were rid- ing in the lead lacomotive pull- ing westbound: freight No. 203 | The other two injured were rid- ing in the caboose of No. 203.

The accident happened at a point where the ‘tracks cut along the side of a steep cliff. There is a drop of about 150 feet from the trosks to the water below but none of the engines or cars plunged down the cliff.
