UITAWA. April 28 - Two North simcce seed potato growers have been taken into court in Penetan- guishene, Ontario. for alleged fail- ure to take steps tc.hali: the spread of the dreaded bacterial ring rot in ,pt7tIt0OS. marking the first pros- ecutions in that region for this offense.

Mcrilie oharlebols and Lucian Robltallle were both ordered to pay fines and court costs. Both growers were ordered to dispose of all their stocks, including culls. lsat January and to take the -necessary disinfecting steps against this dis- ease which has been described as the most deadly poisto disease in North America. The government charged -the orders were not car- ried out by the growers.

Edward Island Hospital on Aprll 28th of Harry R. Craswell of Hillel Grove aged fifty-tlircs. ..About two years ago he became stricken with ll health and spent several months at different times in l1o.tvpltal.But ('e.7;iltr skillful med- ical care and kindness of therhome folk and friends he passed away on the above mentioned date.

Thro' all the months he was ill he faced life with courage and hope and ever greeted his friends with a smile and! a. cheerful word. His passing leaves 3 deep gap in the neighborhood where he always look it great interest in the affairs of the community and seemed to feel it B. duly to lend his old especially to the church and school.

Progressive by nature and in his

outlook on llle. he followed. closely in the footsteps of his late father and built up smi kept in finest re- pair one of the loveliest homesiends in the country. Nothing pleased Mr. Craswell more than to have friends and relatives come to visit- and hospitality was dispensed at such times with a lavish hand. But although he will be sadly missed in the neighborhood where he was born and where he grew to manhood, yet in the home circle 0 the loss is irreparable. A faithful huband, father and brother has gone from the home and the sin- cere sympothy of all is extended to those left behind. Besides his sor-' rowing widow formerly Katie Malheson of Bicsdalbene are his three daughters. Vivian of Mou- treal, Hazel (Mrs. Miliedgs Mec- Leod) of Brsdsibsne and Alice at home. Three sisters Mrs. John Weeks, Fredericton. Mrs. Nelson Mallieson, springfield. and Mrs. Herman Haley of Mllccn, Msss.. U. 5. A. and one brother Ben of Hazel arovs.

The funeral was held on May 1st from his late home and was con- ducteri by Mr. John Mac?-fay stud- ant minister assisted by Rev. Don- ald Nicholson and Rev. Ernest 5. Weeks.

The hymns were old favorites "Peace Ferfect Peace." and "What s Friend We Have in Jesus."

Mr. Murdock Macieod or Harts- ville. s boyhoorl friend sang with deep feeling an old hymn "Going Down The Valley."

The pallbearers were all life long friends. hay Ferric, George Buchanan. Aldln Buchanan. Ever- ett Mar-Lead, Duncan Nicholson and Howard Mat-Siennsn.

He was tenderly laid to rest bo- side his parents in the cemetery at Fredericton. there to await the final resurrection.
