The O'Leary Boy Scout Cubs hockey team won a 3-1 victory over the Albci-ton Cubs in an ex- cellcnt game in the Alberton rink on Friday night. Outstanding player for the 0'Leary Cubs was N. Kennedy and for Albert-on Ed Mlllman, Jr. Both goal lenders pcrformed very well.

Funeral Held Al 0'Leary Friday -

The funeral of the late Mr. Ben Dumville.,6i2. was held at O'Leary Friday. Feb. ilth from the home of his son, Stanley. it was very large- ly attended. and was conducted by the Rev. w.G. Dickson assisted by Mr. I-feber H. Hardy of Springfield West, who read the Scripture. Rev. C.O. Howlett pronounced the ben- ediction nnd Mr. Owen Underwood led in prayer.

Flavorite hymns were sung with Mrs. E L. MacDougaii as organist and a duet by Mr. and Mrs. E. L. MacDougall. Interment was in the Bethe: United Chruch cemetery.

He is survived by the following sons: Edsel. Stanley and Atwood of O'Leary; Charles in Dunblaine and Boyd in west Cape; and the following daughters. Fsirley and Audrey in West cape: Mrs. my Kennedy. Murray Harbor North, and Mrs. Brent McDonald. 0'Leary

It was learned on Saturday that Summerslde coal dealers have been advised that as a result of the increases awarded to the coal

miners in their new contract, the price of coal and coke will take an immediate Qrbstsntial ad- vance.

Because of the difficulty of ob- tnlnlng coal during the last few months. the dealers have no old stocks on hand. and as a result of this situation all of the coal arriving in future is expected to be invoiced at the new price.

The dealers report that the supply of coal available is still unsatisfactory and advance orders are taking up coal shipments the fast as they come in.-S.

S'side Home Damaged By Fire Saturday

A fire in the home of M”, Keith 'Camcron. 71 Water St. East. In Summcrslde. was discovered by her daughter. Mrs. Margaret Ran- kin. about 5 n.m. on Saturday morning.

Mrs. Rankin awakened early and smelled smoke. Upon investigation she found the living room to be on fire. and because of smoke was unable to reach the telephone located in the room. to summon help.

She immediately rushed next door and phoned the Sumniersldc Fire Department. who quickly responded to the call.

The hardwood floor In one eorner of the room was hadlv burned as was a chcsterfieid chair, scnlter rugs, window drap- es, window cnslng.,and baseboard under the window.

The fire was confined within the living room. and fortunately was discovered before more dam- age was done to the home.-S.

Four Memorial Services Held

At St. Mary's Anglican Church a memorial service was conducted for the late King and special pray- ers were said for the new Queen.

"God Save The Queen" was re- cited as is prayer with the congreg- ation kneeling.

While- the members of the con- gregation were communicating the hymn sung was "And Now 0 Lord Mindful Of The Law".

Other hymns sling during the service were, "Where The Light Forever Shineth", 'iLet Saints On Earth In Concert Sing with Those Whose Work Is Done".

W. G. Dickson'- The chairs of the different churches , had special music. There was a basket of memorial flowefs in thel United Church. OD.-ary. in mem-i ory of James E. Dennis, who died Feb. 7th.. 1942. from the family.

A cornmunity memorial service is planned for the national day of mourning Feb. 15th at eight o'- clock in the 0'Leary United Ohurch. The three congregations cooperating are the Knutsford Bap- tist. 0'Leary Nazarene and 0'Learv United Church. Mr. Owen Under- wood will preside. Ths special ad- dress wlll be given by Rev. W. G. Dickson. The Boy Scouts. the Wolf Cubs. and the C.G.I.T. will attend in uniform and also possibly the members of the O'Leary branch of the Canadian , Legion and the members of the Masonic Lodge.

A similar service will be held in the Springfield West Baptist Church in which the congregation of that church and Bethel United Church will cooperate. Taking part will be Mr. Haber H. Hardy. lav minisier. Rev. C.O. Howlett. O'- Lesry, will give the address.

Tribute From Pulpitsi To Late Sovereign

The Summerside Nursing Reg- istry has completed plans for the sponsoring of their second annual theatre night, on Feb- ruilry 20th and 21st in which they will sponsor a commercial show at s. Summerside theatre. The show they have chosen this year features Cary Grant and Jeanne Craine in a very entertaining comedy-drama.

The proceeds from the sale of tickets which the private duty nurses presently selling is used for maintenance of the Summer- slde Nursing Registry.

The nursing registry is an or- ganization of private duty nurses with a registrar and assistant on duty tweiity-four hours each day to call graduate nurses for private duty.-S.
