amoug whom were many sirangers at present visiting the Island. The ball was very prettily decorated with flags and evergreen. Music was furnished by the League of the Croes band.

Accipent.— We regret to learn that Mr. Benjamin Clow, of Murray Harbor North, is suffering from the effect of a painful accident, On Wednesday last Mr. Clow while sawing with a cross cut saw was so unfortuoate as tualmost cut his hand in two. Medical aid was secured as soon ag possible and all was dowe that could be done to releive the pain, which, as might be expected, was severe.

Manritive Secrrs.—Arrangements have been made to bring the people in from all points east inthe regular trainsto the sports on September 8th and return on a special after the sports are over. This willnc doubt bring quite a crowd from Souris and intermediate stations. A special will alsoleave Summerside in the morning returning after the sports. The boat from Orwell will be detained until 5 o’clock, the rate from Orwell will be 50c including admission to the grounds.

Potice Court.—At the Police Court, this morning, three men were charged with be- ing drunk and disorderly. Two of them were remanded unt’! Monday and the other was fined $8 or 40 days.

A summons bas been iseued against Jos, Doucette for selling |quor in a shop not fitted up according to law. The fine imposed upon Walter Burrows some time ago for infraction of the Liquor Regulation Act was paid yesterday.
