A Merchant Gagged and Robbed.

Quvesec, Sept. 25. Edouard Fafard, the young merchant of St. Roche des Aulnais, has had a dreadful experience. He started from home for Chicago with $600 io bis pocket and a gold

watch. It was soon discovered, how- ever, that Fafard had not left the city, and search being made, he

was found bound hand and foot and gag- ged, lying under a tree in the rear of the residence of Sergt-Major Richards, of Lou's. The poor man was in a terri e state, with his money and watch gone, and it is feared thut his reason wiil give way. No traces have yet been found of the robbers.

A Man Killed in a Row.

Bostox, Sep’. 25.

During a row in a west end bar room last night, Daniel Cronin was struck by one of the crowd and fell to the floor, breaking his neck in the fall. The party fled out. John L. Mulverhall was later arrested op suspicion of being the assailant. All the parties are supposed to belong ‘o Cambridge. Cronin’s body was taken to the morgue.

Harrisserc, Pa., Sept. 24.—A nine-year o'd girl named Agnes C. Wrighter, daugh- ter of anemploye of the Hummelstown Brown Stone Company, who lives two miles from Hummelstown, went to school yesterday carrying her Junch ina basket. When she failed to reiusn home in the evening, hr parents Lee wme anxious and instituted a search, which resulted in the finding of the body of the child strangled to death. She had been outraged and murdered. A portion of her undercloth- ing was used to strangle her. It is sup- posed the fiend who commi.t-d the crime was a Hungarian laborer.
