But the best course to pur-— sue is for the lad to fully acquaint himself with the details of the trades to which he may incline before he makes a selection. Then the matter of natural aptitude can be considered and it is a ost imy ortant fact 9:—so that the lad can avoid going into anything for which he has no special fitness. It is asserted that every one is adapted for some onething better than anything else, and the boy should strive to dis- cover what that one thing it would be a_ great mistake for a lad without a natural bent for mechanics to attempt to learn the machinist’s trade and the chances would be against such a boy’s propcr advancement, for one’s
