North rejected the idea oi doubling because of the comparative vulnerability,

It would appear that an opening trump lead by West would have brought a different conclusion. but this is not necessarily true. It South held up his tmmp ace for one round and took the second, then guessed the diamond finesse. he would still be safe.

Bobby -was headed for a certain ledge deep in the Green Ilbrest. There were many safe hiding places in the rocky ledge where a Dog couldn't follow him and a hunter couldn't get at him. But that ledge was far away and that Dog was getting nearer and nearer. You see, the Dog wasn't fat. and he had done a lot of running about. He wasnlt hurting and puffing. and he was catching up with Bobby Coon. Bcbhy became really anxious. He began to think about climbing a tree. Perhaps he could find a tree with branches so thick that he could hide among them. So he kept his eyes open for such a tree. But he didn't find one.

But at long last he came to a tree in which Redtail the Haiivk had had a nest for two or three years. Bobby wasted no time. He climbed that tree almost as fast. as he had been running on the ground. or course at this time of year Red- tail wasn't using that heat. it was way up in the top of the tall tree and it was a big nest because each year Redtail and Mrs. Redtall had added a. little to it. Bobby climbed over the edge of it and curled up in that nest. He was sure that. no one on the ground ccuid see him He was right. He was still breath- ing hard when the Dog reached the foot of the tree. ,

He knew right away that Bobby was up in.that tree. He began to bark in a different way. He was telling his master that that Coon was up in a tree and that he would keep him there until his master came.
