have personally taken their own cause in their own hands l0 pro- mote their ideals further. ‘Much commendation is due the officials for fostering this spirit oi initia- tive among the boys and girls who will appreciate it so much in later years. Many old Scouts will recall Mr, Hume as their Scout Master in past years, and the experience and the k-nowledge of boys which he possesses will be of considerable advantage to the Scouts of today.

One farmer who had ‘fed a flock of forty when he started in Decem- ber. reports that only fourteen now come at feed time. This sit- uation seems to be fairly general throughout the district. Upland game enthusiasts can only hope that the nesting season will be favorable, although the disastrous results of this winter will be all too painfully evident next fail when hunters \vill be obliged to search far and wide for a shot s; the elusive game.

In spite of the bad roads and weather conditions on Monday night the Murray River Red Wings under the capable management of George Gosbee motored to Mon- tague by truck to meet the Mon- tague Rockets in another tilt of the junior schedule. It was a hard fought game which Montague won 6-1. However, although the score seemed one-sided. the game was by no means all in the Rockets favor. The lvfumuy River boys put on a strong show against the Roc- kets. and in view 6f the fact that hfurray River has no rink. much commendation is clue Mr. Gosbeel for lralillng these boys to be such flue hockey players. 1n a few‘ years a great deal more may oe expected from these youngsters as their hockey ability develops. and, it is possible that u fourth team in the Southern King's League" may be expected. 1
