at home outside the Green Forest. He always uneasy. But berries are worth a little uneasiness.

Reddy Fox is another who thinks the berries belong to him. You didn't know that Reddy Fox eats berries? He does. He is very fond of berries. Many people seem to think that Reddy eats nothing but meat of one kind or another, like Mice and Rabbits and birds. That is their mistake. Reddy eats a lot of other things. including fruit of various kinds.

Farrner Brown's Boy is another who thought that those berries in the Old Pasture didn't belong to others. but did belong to himself and his father and mother because those berries grew on- Farmer Brown's land. So it was that when Blacky the Crow began cawing over in the Old Pasture he at once suspected that meone win up there after berries. He guessed this from the ex- cited way in which Blaelry was cawing. So he started for the Old Pasture to find out if someone was after those berries, and who.

Now Buster Bear had been greedily stuffing himself with the berries from the high bushes. He heard Farmer Brown's Boy coming. He didn't wait. He left for the Green Forest and he left in a hurry al- though he had to go on three feet because one paw was sore. By the time Farmer Brown's Boy reached

Buster Bear was safely back in the Green Forest. Despite the fact that he had eaten enough berries to almost fill his stomach, and should have been feeling good- natured, he was in a bad tamper. "they are my berries." growled Buster Bear. "No one has any right to those berries but me.” Even after he had found a comfort- a-ble place to 1' down and licked his lore foot he continued to growl and grumble. Flying over from the Big River came Graywing the Gull. He often comes far up the Big River looking for fish.. He wasn't looking for fish this time. No, sir. he wasn't up there looking for fish this time. He had left the Big River and now was over the Old Pasture. His eyes sparkled as he looked down. He wasn't looking for fish. 0! course not. There wouldn't be fish in the Old Pasture. He was looking for just what he now sew--blueberrie.s. Graywlng the Gull is very fond of blueberries. He and his friends of- ten fly far inland after blueberries Perhaps they get tired of fish for breakfast. lunch and dinner. I'm sure I would. Wouldn't you? He had just started to fill his crop with them when Farmer Brown's Boy got there. Graywing took to his wings. He was Qust as resentful as Buster Beer.
