Red-bellied Snake report: ; Dr. Doug Sobey sent along a photograph and the following report on two red-bellied snakes in 1989. One red-bellied snake corpse was found on the weekend of 5 -6 August, 1989 on a cottage lane cut through the woodland. The snake was found on the roadway (presumably it had been run over) - about 50 meters north of the shoreline of the Montague River perhaps a couple of kilometers west of Brudenell Point. Later in the same month (about mid-August) the second (and living) snake was found under bricks as shown in the photograph. I caught it, and after a brief examination released it. The spot was only about 15 meters from the spot where the dead snake had.been found.
