    THE GREAT BOAT RACE.

    [Cor. Boston Advertizer.}
    Sruincrterp, Sept, 11. 1867;

    The second anvual regatta a: this city took place
    to-day, and was atiended with perfect success aud
    the most satistactory results, pafticulanly to the
    Ward Brothers. and all, their ,uumerous frieuds,
    They bave tairly met aud vanquished a crew picked
    from the fioest odtsmien of Me provinge, and now
    justly claim the four-oared champigiship of the
    workd. Besides tlie intertational race, however,
    there have been other and exciting exhibitions of a
    quathe skill, aud the eutire aherdehithes beeu fully and
    well“ occapied, The uumber of spĂ©ctators has been
    very great, deusely crowding the river bank for a
    long way down the course, coverioy the roofsof the
    veithbourivg buildings, aud occupying every available
    place for wituessing the sport, ‘The river has been
    1) Meguificent condition, witheut a ripple, and the
    wind, air, and skies were all favorable, The

    A few minutes before four o'clock, the time ap-

    Wards pulling easily up the river from their training!

    the toll bridge. The crews were both in good’ cou-
    dition aud good spirits, every mab perfectly well and
    ready for the contest. ‘he St.” John’ meb were all
    stripped for their work, wearing the usual scanty
    apparel of white shietam@oddrawers. aud close fitting
    red turbans ou their heads. ‘Ria Wards deew up
    to the judge's boat, where they laid off their outer
    garments, and tying blue laudkerchiels ou their
